Location Photo Shoot
May 29, 2008
Corporate photography is often about creating custom photography for a company on-site. With an entire studio set-up cleverly packed into several photo cases (with wheels!), a photographer and at least one assistant arrives at the company’s location and hopefully is given a room or other space which is uncluttered and large enough for the set-up.
Here’s my assistant Therese Ryan in various stages of tweaking the light set-up we just put together during a midtown New York City corporate photography shoot yesterday–
Everything tweaked, here’s Therese ready to pose for a test shot–
The result, portrait of an actual photo subject from the shoot–
What a great business, photographing people. Every person, every face unique. To make everybody you photograph look their best is a challenge both artistically and technically, but very rewarding for both photographer and subject.
Cool travel
May 28, 2008
Even though I like it best where the weather is hot and dry, I just like traveling and experiencing different places and people. So, when I’m not on assignment as a corporate photographer in the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut Tri-State area, I get in as much travel as I can. Sometimes on assignment as a professional photographer, but as often as possible for pleasure as well as personal and stock photography.
Maine…now there’s a place that’s not hot and dry, for sure! But the lobsters, the sea, the marine life. Maine is pristine and beautiful, and nobody can teach you more about lobsters, and a host of everything and anything about the sea and seafaring, than a Mainer. It can be cool there, even in summer. But a gorgeous day in Maine is like nothing else anywhere.
A couple of Maine shots, returning lobster shells to the sea, and marine life in Casco Bay–
Hot travel
May 27, 2008
If you like it hot like I do, the American Southwest is a must-see/must-be. Monument Valley in Arizona-Utah is…well, you really got to just be there. Defies description. Gonna’ be in Las Vegas, take the quick 17 mile trip west of the strip to Red Rock Canyon. Hot as hell, interesting, fabulous. Not Monument Valley, but not bad. Must brings both places, or anywhere in the desert, water, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat!
The Pride of June
May 26, 2008
It’s almost here, the month of June. Spring to summer, perfect weather. It is the month we support and celebrate our lesbian and gay, bisexual and transgendered citizens. With honor, respect, and truthfullness, for entire the month of June, I will turn my camera on our lgbt brothers and sisters. My blog photo is dedicated to lgbt pride for the month of June.
Here is another shot of the same couple who let me into their home and hearts for a photo shoot this May.
